Venue: Synergy Institute of Engineering & Technology,

Prologue

An experiment is a method of investigating causal relationships among variables. An experiment is a cornerstone of the empirical approach to acquiring data about the perceptual world.

Experiments may be to determine the properties of defined sets of things or to assess the effects of parameters. However, experiments are not the end by themselves, rather they are means to an end. The role of planning in all kinds of experiments need not be over emphasized. Planning helps in assuring clarity and thus aids in optimizing the parameters for any scientific or industrial process. It becomes imperative for any researcher or industrial experimenter to have thorough knowledge about the various tools and techniques of planning and designing of experiments. Subsequently, data collected through experiments have to be appropriately analysed by using relevant statistical tools.

Benefits to the Participants

Researchers and industrial workers who aim to optimize processes through establishing relationship between responses and factors would be immensely benefited by attending the programme.

Conducted by renowned teachers and practitioners, the Workshop will expose to modern techniques, explained with case studies and with aid of computers.

Coverage

• Experiments – objectives and types
• Choice of control factors and their levels
• Response variables and their dependence on control factors
• Randomized block designs
• Designs of factorial experiments
